The JPIC Ledolero commission held anti-human trafficking socialization in SMK (private vocational high school) Yohanes XXIII Maumere on February 17th, 2022. This event was the follow-up of the previous anti-human trafficking socialization that was held on November 17th to 22nd, 2021 in collaboration with Vivat Indonesia. The presenters of the event are the teachers of that school.
This anti-human trafficking socialization was lasted for one and half hours (11:00 to 12”30 central Indonesia time or WITA). This event was involved by 10 teachers of the school who were the presenters of the event. They explained the criminal act of human trafficking to 245 students. Those students divided in 10 classes by doing high strict health protocols.
The situation of the event occurred as a usual teaching activity. The students enthusiastically responded to the topic of the socialization that was delivered by their teachers. Even this socialization was held during the covid-19 pandemic, the students were very excited and enthusiastic for the socialization. The student were very enthusiastic of their opinion about the danger of the criminal act of human trafficking in Sikka regency. Teachers and students have same hope of the criminal act of human trafficking in Indonesia especially in Sikka would end soon. Therefore, this socialization was not only for the teachers and the students but also all community who were invited to fight against the criminal act of human trafficking.
